Welcome to the Scripters Community Forum, SimplyShadow! A good way to start scripting is to use the ROBLOX Wiki tutorials here. If you ever run into any problems, we're here to help!

Tips?
- Wiki is love, wiki is life. - Don't duplicate code, apply variables, loops, or functions. - Tab correctly for god's sake bro. - Use semicolons at the end of declarative lines of code to look cool(mandatory in some languages). - You probably don't have to use that coroutine you were thinking about using.
Practice?
Only way to learn how to code is to code. Go find yourself a project and work from there ;D

what are some tips? and how should I practice If you're wanting to learn Lua there's no better place from Lua its self! Just follow this link to an online book that has all the stuff you need to know! www.lua.org/manual/5.1/If you to learn it for scripting on Roblox some of the Lua stuff won't work though, but here's the Roblox API, Just cause'. wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=API:Class_reference

what are some tips? and how should I practice I forgot to say this but I also suggest buying a cheap book from the shops and writing down what you learn, just don't get Roblox's API and Lua mixed up, That's what I did when I first was learning and it caused a ton of confusion!

You should practice.
Some tips are:
- Be patient. Learning takes time
-Be interested in what you're doing. Don't do it "because you have to"
-Learn from free models and afterwards use what you've seen and try making your own code. This way you will learn quicker.
- If you struggle: First try your absolutely best to do it, if you fail to do it, there are always help to get in the forums.
-It is allowed to be de motivated, if you are just relax and have a break
-Don't learn things in a hurry; If you have to go, don't try learning something advanced and then quit in the middle of the "process", sometimes it will cause you to remember wrong and do it wrong.
- Programming is the future Once you know one programming language, you will see that most programming languages have things in common.

I believe there is a kindle e-book available for Lua, for a low cost of around £4 - £5.

I know it may be late, but I'd personally suggest going here: wiki.roblox.com/index.php?title=Scripting_Book#Chapter_1Then join the scripters.cf discord so you can ask for help. Yes, I know, Wiki does kind of explain things in a weird way, but after you get the basis of everything- it should be self-explanatory.
